2010 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award

I was really shocked when I got the call yesterday from the BBC to say I had been shortlisted for this award. I've made the final 10 and am so pleased. There is a ballot next week to choose the final 3 and to be one of them would be amazing. There is really strong competition from the other finalists though who have all had an amazing year in their sport so good luck to everyone and fingers crossed I can make the final 3. Would be a fantastic end to a challenging year for me. BBC article below.

Swansea Bay 10k 2010

The sun was shining again for this years Swansea 10k. I always enjoy competing in this race and use it as a time trial as its a really good course. Although it was a nice day there was too much wind to guarantee beating the course record I set last year. Still a good race though and I finished in 24 mins 28 sec, so not too bad considering I had no one to race with!

Back from the Czech Republic with 5 golds and a silver. Under 18s World Champion 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m and Under 23s World Champion 5000m.

I fly out on Thursday 19th to Prague. I did really really well last year at this event in Switzerland coming back with gold in 100m, 200m, 1500m and 5000m. Im just hoping I can do as well this year now!! I have already seem some of my competition at other events this season and there are some fast international guys about. I will go out and give it everything I've got and hope I can do myself and GB proud!

Officially found out yesterday that I will be representing GB in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m at the Junior World Champs in Czech Republic from 19-25 August. Wish me luck everyone and I'll post my results on here!!!

Busy week!!

Well its half way through the week and training has gone really well so far. Had a great massage today at David Lloyds in Cardiff. Im off to London again tomorrow to work with Jenny and Dave Weir again for a couple of days. I'll be meeting up with Jane Emmerson on Friday who heads up the charity Get Kids Going, they're a great organisation who help children and young adults with equipment for sport. On Saturday I'll be at Stoke Mandeville for GB relay training which Im looking forward to.

Preperation for Junior Worlds

With the IWAS Junior World Champs fast approaching I know that I need to be in the best shape I can be going into the competition. I've seen some of the athletes compete already this season and they have got fast!!! I'm off to London today to work with my coaches Jenny Archer and David Weir.

Filming, Training and Driving Lessons

It's only Wednesday and I havent stopped!!

Monday started with a trip to see my hairdresser, Rhys Giles at the Celtic Manor. I had a little bit of a style change and the colour re-done.....all the while by being filmed by Boomerang for Channel 4!! Filming with Boomerang continued in the afternoon in Cardiff at the Trike Shop where we revealed the wheelchairs of two kids who had had their chairs pimped!! Looking forward to seeing it now at the end of August.

Tuesday I was at the Welsh Institute of Sport for physio in the morning and then did a training session in Aberdare in the evening.

Today Ive got my first driving lesson which Ive been looking forward to for ages, one step closer to independence!! Later this afternoon then I'm back off down the track for training.
